We are in love with this whimsical establishment on Jalan Kayu Aya, with its unique facade made from coloured glass louvers. The interior is no less enticing: a turquoise timber bar lined with high white stools and washed wood tables dotted with mason jars sprouting fresh wildflowers and matched with colorful metal chairs. At night tiny twinkle lights are lit to create a cozy place perfect for a catch up with friends or a romantic date.
Food is healthy yet hearty. For breakfast, choose eggs your way; add favourite sides and complement with fresh fruit juice, or opt for super-food quinoa & chia seed coconut milk porridge with grilled banana, pistachios and goji berries. Sea Circus coffee brings not only a good dose of caffeine but also daily motivation. An inspiring quote printed on a cute piece of paper, a fragrant frangipani flower and a cookie accompanies every Kintamani Arabica coffee served here.
Lunch and dinner menus are spiced with favourites including snapper ceviche, marinated pork tacos, beetroot and orange salad with feta and toasted hazelnuts washed down with tantalizing margaritas, signature Bloody Mary’s or tropical cocktails ready to be shared from glass milk jars.

Held at Villa Sungai Tinggi in Bali’s increasingly popular Canggu district, the soft white wedding hues stood out perfectly against the backdrop of rolling green lawns dotted with fragrant frangipanis and swaying coconut palms hugging the landscape’s natural contours. The beautiful sunset ceremony was followed by an intimate dinner under fairy light canvas and a party to remember. And we won’t be forgetting the bride’s dramatic, glamorous dress anytime soon.

Comes Friday, the trendy MÉTIS Lounge hosts Aperochic evening where a top-notch sound system and the best local and international DJs create a chic atmosphere for aperitifs with friends. By this time we are craving some more food and head to the upper level of Mama San where leather club chairs, ottomans, a plump banquette with scatter cushions and Raja palace lights, chandeliers and candles twinkling softly create the perfect ambience to chill-out with tasty cocktails and amazing Asian bites by the famous chef Will Meyrick.

12am dance the night away at Mint
Mint is Bali’s most renowned and respected house music club, known for its credible history of guest DJs, state of the art sound, lush interior and world-class cocktails all within a club that’s set to impress: rich timbers, marble floors, a backlit glass bar, big comfortable sofas and private VIP lounging.
While Bali is perhaps best known for its verdant and picturesque rice-terrace landscape, The Bukit Peninsula possesses a very different kind of beauty. Towering limestone cliffs, thick coastal forest, timeless fishing villages and legendary surf breaks typify this rugged lemon-shaped headland marking the island’s most southerly point.
A narrow land bridge separates the sprawling southern plains of Bali from The Bukit, and it’s here that you’ll find the peaceful fishing community of Jimbaran. The wide, gentle curve of Jimbaran Bay is protected by a reef, which creates a calm lagoon of sparkling turquoise water. Safe swimming conditions and beautiful soft white sand make this lovely beach a hit with families. Colourful jukung (traditional fishing boats) rest on the sand, and casual restaurants line the beach. Jimbaran’s nightly seafood barbecues regularly top ‘must do’ lists in Bali. Choose your fish or seafood, then take a table on the beach while it is basted in Jimbaran’s famous spice mix of garlic, black pepper, kaffir lime leaves and chilli, and grilled over coconut husks. Those in search of a finer dining experience and bespoke cocktails can head up to the fabulous beach club, Sundara, tucked into the corner of the bay, while foodies shouldn’t miss Cuca, one of the island’s most innovative restaurants.
Situated on the gentle rise of Jimbaran Hill, with charming views over the bay, (best enjoyed from a roof-top Jacuzzi,) the light and spacious Villa Aiko is well set-up for families. Nearby are two more fabulously equipped villas, each with ocean views and walking tracks down to the beach: Villa Jamalu is equally suited to jetsetters in search of a luxury pad and families looking for a quite holiday retreat, while the popular, highly contemporary Villa Adenium boasts a massive gym and games room.
Further up the hill is the area known as ‘millionaires row,’ an exclusive neighborhood boasting million-dollar views and some of the island’s most exclusive villas. Elite Havens’ villa chefs share their special recipes
Elite Havens villas are synonymous with superb dining, prepared by skilled chefs – many of whom have trained in internationally renowned restaurants. Villa menus include an extensive range of Western and Asian suggestions, and our chefs will also do their best to cater to guests’ special requests. But of course every chef has his or her own ‘special’ dishes – the ones that guests ask for again and again. With much coaxing and cajoling, we’ve prised some of these secret recipes from our chefs to share with you.
Villa Ramadewa’s Grilled Lamb Chops with Lemongrass Marinade
4 double loin lamb chops
Freshly ground black pepper to taste
8 pods fresh green soybean boiled until tender (discard shells)
For the marinade:
2 tsp cumin seeds, lightly toasted
3 inches fresh ginger, chopped
1 ½ inches fresh turmeric, chopped
4 shallots, chopped
4 cloves of garlic, chopped
4 stems of lemongrass, finely sliced
2 tbsp sugar
1 tsp salt
2 tbsp vegetable oil
- To prepare the marinade, first grind the cumin seeds to a fine powder in a spice grinder. Add all the other ingredients except the oil. Process to a smooth paste adding a little oil if needed to keep the mixture turning.
- Heat the oil in a small pan and stir-fry the paste over heat until fragrant and cooked (8 – 10 mins). Transfer to a bowl and leave to cool.
- Sprinkle both sides of the lamb chops with a little freshly ground pepper, than rub generously with the marinade. Set aside to marinate for at least 30 minutes. Grill the chops to taste and serve garnished with the cooked soybeans.
- In the unlikely event that there is any leftover meat, slice and wrap in pita bread for a delicious lunch snack.
