1. Niko Niko Festival
When: 13-14 July 2025
Niseko Village welcomes summertime with the vibrant colours and joyful atmosphere of matsuri, a traditional festival, in its vintage Japan-themed shopping district. All-day live music and dance performances entertain visitors. Guests can enjoy traditional matsuri food and drinks, with fireworks and lively celebrations as a backdrop.
2. Kutchan Potato Festival (Jaga Matsuri)
When: 2 August 2025
The humble potato is given centre stage at this fun festival that takes place at the beginning of August. Celebrating the harvest season, the sleepy town of Kutchan comes alive as food stalls line the main streets and live performances by dance crews and jazz bands entertain revellers. Why not don a summer kimono and join in the ‘1000 people’ dance? Make sure you stay late to witness the spectacular fireworks too.
3. Onsen Panorama Bicycle Ride
This unique 30km bicycle ride takes place in July as a special event preceding the UCI Niseko Classic. Participants tour some of the best onsen in the Ranokshi/ Niseko area, while taking in the scenic mountain views.
4. Niseko-yo Beer Garden Event
When: 9 – 12 August 2025
Experience the perfect blend of relaxation and enjoyment at Niseko Village’s official beer garden at Niseko-yo. Gather with family and friends in the spacious area and savour refreshing beers, light snacks, and live entertainment. Its convenient location makes it an ideal plan for summer evenings.
5. Tree-trekking

6. Whiskey Appreciation

7. Niseko Town Fireworks Festival
Not to be outdone, Niseko lights up the skies with fireworks on the same weekend as Kutchan. Known as the region’s biggest fireworks show, it is the perfect way to spend a cool summer evening, snuggled into your special someone’s arms. Remember to carry a shawl to keep warm.

Niseko’s summer calendar now boasts a significant addition: the rapidly growing Hirafu Matsuri.
